2021 - The Biggest Year for Pokemon ! Let the Stars Shine Bright

For months avid collectors and investors alike have been waiting for the name drop of the Sword and Shield 4.5 set. We don't know for certainty, but its highly likely that this new set will be to commemorate 25 years of Pokemon. Pokeguardian seems to have data to confirm it is the anniversary release - the last being the 20th anniversary Generations set. So, what's this set going to be called? Well, if you're into the Japanese Pokemon TCG scene, you would have guessed that the release could be based on the highly popular Shiny Star V set which was released late November 2020. The English set will be called Shining Fates - how original ! ;) The release date for Shining Fates is scheduled for 19th February 2020, with the actual Pokemon 25th anniversary being on the 27th of February 2020.

Surely they could have put some effort into naming the set. Judging from the logo in one of the few pictures around (sourced from Pokebeach), the marketing team just replaced the Hidden from Hidden Fates logo with Shining. Well, criticism aside, we still think this set will be a smash hit.

According to Water Pokemon Master's article on Pokebeach, the set will include over 90 cards and in addition over 120 shiny vault cards. We best start saving up as its a huge set and if Hidden Fates is anything to go by, completing the shiny vault part of the set will not be cheap.
